This complex is a bit out of Moscow. It seems to have operated as a home for rich wayward girls. Peter the Great (there they go again, the Greats) locked his annoying sister Little Great here to get her out of his hair. She was educated and smart apparently. Irritating qualities for a girl.
The convent is bordered by a large and serene cemetery. I guess that is an oxymoron, isn't it. Boris Yeltsin is buried there. A number of cosmonauts judging by the headstones. They seem to spare no expense in memorials.
